HOW WE WORK
Called to action by the sudden and unfolding crisis in Afghanistan, we are responding to the urgent need to assist the most at-risk Afghan citizens with movement to safer locations within, and evacuation from, the country.
As our capacity permits, we respond to requests for protection and safe haven, and advise on refugee and asylum referral processes. We are in close contact with a large network of formal and informal actors working on the crisis, and are constantly monitoring the situation on the ground in real time.
Informed by our field experience and based on our assessment of the political, security, and logistical conditions, we will make the best decisions to maximize rescue efforts and minimize risk.
We are primarily interested in making sure allies of the US are fed, healthy, and secure.
We are engaging in advocacy at the highest levels of the U.S. Administration,Congress, and private sector as well as the international community for policies that will allow the greatest number of at-risk vulnerable people to be evacuated safely from Afghanistan.
We are building and expanding more creative approaches to resolving the challenges facing these refugees today.
By December 2022, our goal is to have assisted 10,000 Afghans by providing them with safe shelter, living support, and evacuation assistance.
But, we cannot do these things alone.
Your support is essential. We need urgent funding, for:
Life Support: lodging, food, security, and medical assistance for evacuees while transiting Afghanistan, and while awaiting refugee and asylum case adjudication in onward destinations.
Transport: Transport to safe locations inside the country by locally
contracted operators with trusted, vetted drivers
